I've been reading a bunch of articles claiming that Toyota is
attempting to use it's influence with the US government to get the
penalties lessened. While I agree that Toyota tries to influence
government decisions the articles are missing one extremely important
fact. GM and Chrysler ARE the US government!

Can you imagine if a Japanese official said that General Motors had beeter
do something about the quality of their cares, FAST?
