No, the *current* model is considered the 2nd generation, so this is a book
about the previous version, sold in the US starting in 2000(???)

The FIRST gen was sold only in Japan. The SECOND gen was finally
offered in the US, but for the US it was the first time--so US citizens
think of that as "first gen".
The CURRENT model is Toyota's THIRD GEN, but second gen for US buyers.
