To the average American "the world" is everything between New York and
California, and most of them seem awfully surprised when they learn there's
life beyond their own borders.

Anyone ever seen the "Red Rooster" chicken adds filmed in the US where they
ask people on the street (It looks like NY City) about roast chicken?
I always crack up laughing when one stupid seppo says "What would that even
taste like?" :)
