Well, around here (the Phoenix area), except for about three months in
the Summer, Diesel fuel costs more than Premium gasoline. Fortunately,
the Prius doesn't have a Rube Goldberg drive train either. Don't forget
that there are a number of states where you can't buy a Diesel
automobile at all--namely, California, New York, Massachusetts,
Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine and New Jersey.

So the Rabbit has A/C, A/T and an interior as roomy as the Prius?

The Rabbit was a smoky rattletrap.

You miss the point, little one. (The point being that the acclaimed
fuel efficiency of the Prius was reached decades ago using more
conventional technology. The shortcomings of those early diesels
have been overcome at this point in time.)
Hybrids make no sense.

I still find myself holding my breath and pass as soon as I can if I'm
following a diesel. They still burn my nostrils. And talk about a freakin'
racket when stopped next to one.
