Thanks.  That was interesting.

I was trying to see whether sales peaked at any particular time
of year but the numbers are all over the place, barring a faint
bias in established models towards improved sales during Summer
months (Jun/Jul/Aug).

My local T-pusher (ie, in UK) seems to be shifting more Priuses
in general.

It would appear the Toyota buyers are the only ones who do not yet
understand hybrids are not a smart buy when compared to their conventionally
powered twins.  Unless ones goal is to save the earth.   ;)

I paid about the same for my 2004 Prius as a comparably equipped Camry,
the closest conventionally powered car Toyota sells, would have cost,
and I got an income tax deduction in the process.  How, in your opinion,
was that not a smart buy?

Quite the contrary - Toyota hybrids are still selling as fast as they can be
made, as they have since they were introduced. The sales figures are the
production figures. Currently the premium for the hybrid system pretty much
relegates the system to mid and top line vehicles, but there was a time fuel
injection was that way, too.

I have an older Volvo; my older son has an Acura, my younger son has a Chevy
(Cobalt), and my daughter has a Honda. The two Prius in our family have
fewer combined problems and consume less combined gasoline than any of the
other vehicles. And this is the infancy of hybrids.

Check the recent thread about the hybrid cost calculator (posted by another
skeptic). Your info is seriously out of date.
