Shopping for insurance for my 2006 Prius, I am finding insurance quotes
are twice what I was paying for my 2000 Outback. Have others
encountered this with the Prius? By the way, I have a flawless driving
record--not even a parking ticket, ever.

Which insurance exactly are you quoting? Certainly collision and
comprehensive insurance should be a lot higher on a brand new car than
one that's six years old, but your liability coverages shouldn't be much
different. And that's what I found when I gave up my 1995 Prizm for my
2004 Prius.

Did you ask Traveller's? They have a hybrid discount.
