check out this 4-minute video clip from CNN.  half way through  they release
results of scientific polling, indicating that the vast majority of

Well, something like 30% of americans believe in UFO's also.

What people believe and what is true often differs widely.

whether the election will be rigged is open to debate, but it is not open to
debate about whether or not the machines are wide open to rigging and
hacking.  That is a hard fact agreed to by all the experts including several
consortium reports.  There is no one saying the machines are safe, except
for the voting machine companies.  Don't take my word for it.  Listen to
what the experts say:

"All three voting systems have significant security and reliability
vulnerabilities, which pose a real danger to the integrity of national,
state, and local elections."

--The William Brennan Institute, in a written report prepared by a task
force of computer security experts including the head of security at
Microsoft and Lawrence Livermore Labs, and expert computer professors from
Yale, Berkeley, NYU, Stanford, and other Universities

"The election system, in its entirety, exhibits shortcomings with extremely
serious consequences... These shortcomings merit urgent attention. Relying
on this system in its present state should be viewed as a calculated
risk..."

--Election Science Institute

"If we were another country being analyzed by America, we would conclude
that this country is ripe for stealing elections and for fraud."

--former chair of the Government's Election Assistance Commission (EAC)

"Don't trust Diebold voting machines."

--USA Today, 10/2/06

"We know that both the Diebold optical-scan and touch-screen (DRE) machines
have been proven to be vulnerable to tampering in test after test by
industry experts, including a team of computer scientists and security
experts convened by California's Secretary of State."

--Democratic Party's website

"There is a serious flaw in the code that otherwise should protect the
AV-TSx from memory card attacks"

-- Voting Systems Technology Assessment Advisory Board

"We're talking about a disaster here. Why is any election officer in the
country taking a risk with these machines? This is like playing with nitro
glycerine."

--CNN's Lou Dobbs

I really don't care, since anyone who is elected, legally or otherwise, will
suck.

That is why I quit voting about 10 years ago after voting every time for 30
years.

The popular vote makes absolutely no difference anyway.
