Hi. This is the only thing I've found so far that is what I am looking for:
http://www.survivalunlimited.com/waterpumps/spsolarpump.htm
It's a bit pricy.
Anyone have any plans for a homemade solar powered shallow well pump? I
would like to be able to pump at least 1 gpm with a total head of about 190
feet and 50-100 watts of panels. I would also like to be able to keep my
240VAC well pump installed in my well and have this off to the side.
If I have to make it myself I am thinking of using something like a 12 volt
fan motor (3-5 amps I guess), and pullies with a ratio of at least 10:1.
I'm thinking a piston pump would probably work best.
I'm surprised that I have not found anything else like this online. I can't
be the only one who wants to do this!
Thanks.

Dunno about home-made, but http://mrsolar.com/ has some submersible
and shallow-well pumps that aren't quite so expensive...
