Well, it finally happened, this month I used '0' kwh off the grid... so my
electric bill was the minimum bill of $5.59 (when no power is used) plus
.06¢ for the city sales tax. An electric bill of $5.65 is the smallest bill
I can receive.... so this is a first for me.
What this bill means, is that my usage this month was less than 1 kwh, so
it registered as zero... and this is significant... I am still working on
getting some more of my CF house lights off the grid.... in fact, in the
next few months, I hope to maintain a monthly usage of 1 kwh or less, if
possible, until I'm confident that I no longer need the grid for a backup
source of electric power...

Isn't it great to have that great big security blanket right out your door?
Called the grid.
Congrades Gig on your accomplishment, what took you so long?

Timid, I guess... I took it a step at a time... and slowly took one thing at
a time from the grid and switched it over to the PV system..... then
observed my battery levels, my power productions on sunny days, as well as
cloudy days.... over several months.... this way, I slowly gained some
confidence in what my system could do
In the near future, I will slowly add some more loads to the PV system until
everything is connected the way I want...
Anyway, I do feel a bit more confident... and I am slowly creeping closer to
maintaining a zero grid usage over several months....

Oil powered generator, wood heat, etc. Paradise!

And probably a lot less costly than equivalent, grid-connected property.
