Hey my dear funny friend,
I know you have a few patents on your solar gadgets. I have a couple of
things I want to apply for a patent. Can you help? I have book but it's
5-6 yrs old. Something probably had changed in the patent office. Is there
any online application that you know of?
I did a patent research and I haven't found anything close to my new gadget,
so I am excited about this.
Thanks for your help.
Jack.

I agree with you Don on this:
When to Patent WHEN2PAT.PDF
Guidelines for when to patent. Do not even think about
patents and patenting unless you can honestly give yourself
positive answers to all of these key questions.
However, it seemed to me getting a patent seemed easy even the funny Willie
can get a few patents. The Patent office will issue a wacky and weirdest
invention because their job is to make money.
Ok, here is my biggest question, I have no faith in getting a patent, I
thought I heard the Patent Office will not issue you a Patent if your
product is already on the market, is this true? I am planning to Epoxy the
control circuit and just sell the product ASAP.
Thanks,
Jack.

I don't mean to sound too rush to sell, but the products had been in test
for several months now. Very consistent and functional.
BTW- Thanks for your response.

But all epoxy does is wave a red "I've got a secret" flag.
Dental Xrays are the quickest workaround.
But so is epoxy remover.
And so is careful reverse engineering.
Given the inputs and the outputs, what is inbetween is usually obvious.
Unless they come up with something much better, since you spent your
time pissing around with epoxy rather than doing a decent design in the
first place.
