I have been volunteered to talk in front of my daughters 6th grade class
next week sometime.
I am looking for some pictures of off the grid solar set ups and the
reasons for doing so,like being 2 miles from the grid etc.
I would like some pictures that can be printed on 8x10 photo paper.

It would be great if someone here could help me with this and give me as
much background and pictures of there set up as possible. That way I can talk
about what real people are doing today with solar power.

 Thanks
 Joe

Doesn't take nearly that far. I'm 700 feet from a power pole - and had
incorrectly assumed that it would be reasonable to hook up at that short
distance - not true. My sister is perhaps 1/2 mile back.

You might start on the DOE site under solar for educators.

Here is a good source for pictures on the NREL link from that site.
