you should run small water pipes under them and use the heat for your

City water systems vary greatly in mineral content hardness of the
water. Our water closes in pipes and they have to be cleaned regularly
or replaced every 100 years. In western Canada some systems have water
so free of minerals it leaches the copper out of the pipes. Leaded
solder is a no-no for them definitely.
