My name is Siddhartha Sengupta and I am working as Design Head for
Oman Solar Systems Co. LLC in Muscat, Oman. We have been using PVCAD
version 2.01 for a long time and it is really a very useful tool for
us to design the PV Systems.

Mr. William J. Kaszeta of Photovoltaic Resources International (PVRI)
has developed this software in 1991.PVCAD workes on DOS environment
and completely user friendly.

I want to know, whether any latest version of PVCAD available in the
market, which can run on Windows environment. I tried to contact Bill
(Mr. William J. Kaszeta) and sent mails to him, but did not get any
reply. If anybody knows Bill and help me to get in touch with him, so
that I can purchase the latest version of PVCAD.

I think it is still the best software available in the market.

I am sorry to report that there is no further release of PVCAD.

Unfortunately, the complier that is used to create PVCAD will not run on any
version of Windows since Windows 3.1, making it difficult to modify the program.

The compiled code will run on Windows XP (I do not know about Vista), simply
double-click on pvcad.exe in the C:/pvcad directory and it should run.

Microsoft never provided a path to migrate Professional Basic programs to Visual
Basic
and I can not afford the time to start from almost scratch with another method.
The
calculations are very complex, use multi-dimensional data arrays,  and the
program
is in several chained parts to overcome memory limits in effect at the date of
development.  Several students have attempted a conversion over the years, none
has
been successful.
