This is my webpage for the experiment that I have been running for over
a year.  I have posted this in the past, but since there isn't a lot of
activity on this newsgroup recently, I thought Newby's might be interested:

For what it's worth, I will continue to run the system until at least
May of this year.  Then, I think I will put it away and wait for the "$
per watt" panels to come along.

In the meantime, my son and I will continue to work on a 25KW to 45KW
gas producer generator set to be grid tied.

What model is your DAU, I didnít see it listed.

Thats good data for a fixed pitch and roll system at your latitude.
How about putting it on an EW gimbal still facing S at 35 deg or
whatever you latitude is, and get one of those $0 trackers from
redrok and see if the power collection goes up. The tracker gives
theoretical 50% increase. You could second that theory or refute it.
The pabels would be facing the sun right about 8am until anout 4pm
with the tracker. Lots more watthrs.

Good question.   A friend even delivered one of those C band mounts with
power supply to me almost a year ago, so I don't have much of an
excuse for not doing so.
---But,  I guess I am lazy.  I figure that if I was going to get
serious and put up a lot of sq. yards of collector, I wouldn't dare have
out them on pivots when we get the high winds of summer.

Somewhere on that webpage, I think I do estimate the amount of power I'm
loosing at about 37%.  I did this by making the assumption, for better
or for worse, that if I got up with the sun and aimed my collector
directly at it, I'd get the maz power that I get at noon.

 Hi, Martin.
My DAU is the DI-194 RS.  That is the serial port model.
I don't know if they still have that one listed, but I'd get their USB
equivalent, which is only about $ more, anyway.
Besides, My latest version of Symantec Anti Virus thought the DAU was
a Virus or something and quit allowing me to get data from it (since it
was on a comm port).  Took me 2 days for figure out how to exclude it!

As I look back over the last year-plus use of this little DAU, I still
think it's one of the best investments ($5) that I ever made.
