Yet another useless answer from a jerkoff.

Silly comment from yet another jerkoff artist who probably doesn't even know the
rudiments of the science and technology involved.

Provide a realistic costed example of solar power in cents / kWh of a system
that can
operate 24/7 all year round to supply say 5kW continuously if you think you're so
clever.

 Hi kids

I’m a little confused why I see so much PV solar bashing going on
here. I’ve been messing around with this stuff for about 10 years now
and I think it’s great technology. ( NOTHING IS A CURE ALL ) I’ve been
off grid for the last 7 years and it's not inconvenient at all. Yah,
I’ve had to change my life a little ( meaning turning the lights off
when I leave the room, get efficient appliances and so on ) but that’s
what I should have been doing all along. Right? For me,  the point is
independence. But to get to the cost. I am not a licensed solar
installer ( I don't want to be ) but I have installed 20 systems to
equal about 150 k for people and then they told there friends and so
on. Here in my area of ny the homeowner can legally do there own
plumbing and electrical work so when I do there system install I am
just a buddy helping and by the time im done we are buddies and they
tell a friend. So far I’ve been able to do a fully installed system
with pretty jmuch top of the line equipment ( Everybody has a
favorite ) but I use Sharp panels and SMA Sunny Boy inverters mounted
on Uni-Rac mounting systems for no more then $6.50 per watt. And I
make a great buck when I do one. ( I should make good money cuz I do a
good job ) Depending on how nice the people are and how slow the work
season is ( im a cabinetmaker by trade ) I’ve even worked with a few
people that wanted to do there own install at 50 bucks an hour
( cash ) and made a good days pay and made a few new friends to boot.
I can get the equipment for a full system for right around $5.25 a
watt plus about 600 bucks shipping ( that’s panels ( panels alone
about $3.20 per watt right now ), inverters, track, mounting hardware,
wire, bolts, conduit and anything else needed. So that’s my version of
“ How Much Solar Panels Cost, Really?”  "No hidden cost, No Bologna"
I'll show you the invoice. If any of you would like to ask any
questions, Please feel free to drop me a email at
busdweller56@gmail.com and if your nice enough I may even talk to you
by phone, who knows }:o)

Peace along the way

Expensive hobby and probably creating a very large carbon footprint
manufacturing all the gadgets, continuously. We will know who to blame for
the tornados.

Let's see $6/watt x 4 hours of sun per day x 200 solar days x $0.0001per Wh
= $0.48.  Yup 48 cents worth of energy per annum per installed watt.
repurchase 20-50% of equipment every ten years or so.

$6 x 8% interest (not your credit card) =  $0.48 per annum. Good thing I
don't have any maintenance charges are hidden on that investment return.

Great hobby, expensive, but I like it too. Cheaper than having a
co-operative wife.

LOL
