Folks that think the government is the solution to all of our problems
need to wake up.

They won't, but they need to.

Made me think of the two movies: "Chinatown" and "The Two
Jakes".... only with some unspecified agenda instead of water.

I think "The Two Jakes" was about real estate. Originally there was
meant to be a trilogy with the third film addressing the LA public
transport system (it was sold to Ford and General Motors! who basically
shut it down). Some people think that "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" was that
film.

You mean corporate owned government, not representative government.
But it is a problem. Mexico went socialist in 1917, and the politicians
enriched themselves. Then in the 1970, when Mexico was deep in debt,
they went neo-liberal and sold everything that wasn't nailed down. The
politicians and their cronies bought the best at pennies on the dollar
(so to speak). Now the rich politicians are moving out of the country,
and leaving it to the narco-terrorists (probably more cronies).

Now they are shaking down school teachers for half their salaries.

With a "public campaign finance law", we could take the country back,
but the corporations won't allow that.

Both the House and Senate budget plan would have cut Social Security and
Medicare, while cutting taxes on the wealthy.

Kucinich noted that none of the government programs targeted for
elimination or severe cutback in House Republican spending plans
"appeared on the GAO's list of government programs at high risk of
waste, fraud and abuse."

[W]e have the situation with the deficit and the debt and spending and jobs. And
itıs not that difficult to get out of it. The first thing you do is you get rid
of corporate welfare. Thatıs hundreds of billions of dollars a year. The second
is you tax corporations so that they donıt get away with no taxation.
