There is a big new Northern Tools near me in Orlando. Went there
Sunday and saw several big Sharp panels in boxes... they said 80W and
125W and the price said $599, but I couldnt figure out which panels
they had in the box. That is the first time I have ever seen a 'real'
panel for sale. All the rest I've seen in retail outfits were toy 15W
low eff panels like the Harbor Freight ones. This mean the pipeline is
beginning to fill up? Prices due to drop soon? They also had a Xantrex
400W home UPS and some small inexpensive 7A charge controllers.

Prices seem to have fallen a bit, you can find sub $4/w panels here and there.

Cheers

Looks like Northern as well as a whole bunch of other big retailers
are getting their solar stuff from this outfit

middle man probably accounts for the relatively high prices.

I heard rumors of Mitsubishi panels (maybe 165/175/185 watts? Grid-tie
panels.) showing up in several of the Home Depots in the San Francisco
bay area.  I was careful to ask, did they mean there was an installer
signing up customers?  No, it was panels in boxes, cash and carry.
