I have a John Deere Lawn tractor and I want to connect a solar battery
charger to the battery because recently I've been having to jumpstart
it after sitting up for a long period of time. Has anyone done this?
Is there a down side to attaching a solar batter charger? The tractor
sit for 2 to 3 weeks between uses. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I use one on my Toro/Wheelhorse & have had very good results. It also goves
me a convenient place to measure the battery voltage without alot of
disassembly.
Good luck!

If your tractor won't start after sitting for 3 weeks...
either your battery is just plain bad...or else there is a current drain of
some type! A good battery should easily hold a charge for 3 months or more.

especially in lawn mowing weather.
