The Solar Bus rode 16 people from Vermont to Tennessee to the Bonnaroo music
festival. There we set up our solar displays and got thousands of
signatures on a campaign to reduce our carbon footprint. The 2400 mile
trip was on nearly all waste vegetable oil and biodiesel.
check out our blog for photos and video from the trip:

look for us at future festivals including the Gathering of the Vibes.

Where do you think the feedstock for biodiesel came from?
Waste vegetable oil is oil from errr ... vegetable matter, which grows
in the presence of errr .... sunlight and by recourse to the calvin
cycle, fixing carbon and hydrogen to build the biomass from which the
lipids are drawn.
Quite a bit of the vegetable oil actually comes from a plant called
the 'sunflower' which ought to be a hint. Sunflowers even track the
sun in real time.

As Fran has pointed out, vegetable oil comes directly from the sun. As
well, if you look at the photos of the bus, there is a PV array on the roof,
and batteries, inverter, etc.
Does that explain???????
Thanks for asking
