Looks like Soon energy Problem will be solved, If the Solar Power
continues to drop as in this article.

http://www.getclub.com/Show/view.php?best=Articles&itemid

It suggests an efficient Solar Technology has been developed which is
25% more efficient than previous generation. By 2011 Solar Energy will
be as cheap as coal.

So we will have less polluted source of Energy which will be cheaper
and save Environment too.

Nanosolar already claims the "less than a $1/watt" retail price
although you can't buy them yet.

What we need now are a) people that will sell at $1/watt,
b) really dirt cheap high capacity batteries.

Someone can buy them, just not you and me.  Otherwise why would they
make them, to give them away?  The fact that Nanosolar chose the
'business to business' route to sell their panels seems to really irk
some people.

I'm sure Johnny Punchclock is just itching to get his hands on some
cheap panels so he can cash in on the current incentives before the
'G' yanks the carpet out from under him.  After all, why do we need
subsidies or incentives if PV is on par with coal?

I don't think subsidies are a good thing. PV should be able to
compete without subsidies and they're nearly there. I think that
fossil fuels should also be able to compete without all their
tax breaks, government incentives and supports as well. Heck, I
think nuclear should have to pay for their own insurance also.

Nanosolar have never claimed $1 a watt retail price.
All they have claimed is a production price of $1 a watt
and their production for the next 18 months is already sold, but at an
undisclosed price.
People are simply assuming they have sold their production at $1 a
watt, because thats what people want to beleive.

Anyone can claim anything in so far as making something at a low cost
but if no one can buy it at the low cost, the claim is worthless.
