Is it possible to build a solar chimney today for every day use ?

If the giant one they are building in Oz is only 2% efficient, maybe
the one described in your link could be a lot smaller if it is more
efficient.

sure, one can build anything. might work ok in some areas - like hot
deserts.
i saw drawings of similar in oceans. the idea is to get a funnel to
focus waves & SLAM into a column. use turbines to collect the water
energy.
while being low in efficiency, they might be economically attractive by
having equipment readily accessible. designing a home in such a way to
passively use that air movement might be a smart idea.

Their is a firm in California that doing the same thing. I agree i would
like to see a smaller scale one.

Might be OK for a bit of passive cooling, and that's been tried in the
UK, but I wouldn't expect it to be viable for power generation.
What did you have in mind ?
