Looking to put together a small system to play with and to run the
2m/440 ham radio (very light use) and a couple of scanner. And maybe
a floruescent light just for kicks. Was thinking of this:
Uni-solar 20W panel
Moringstar 6 or 10A controller (for future growth? lol)
Some generic wet battery.
I dont get a whole lot of sun time due to trees so i thought a larger
panel might be better. Again, *very* light use on the power hungry
radios anyways and then only in low power transmit mode.
This is just an experimental setup.. not trying to break records. If
I can turn off my huge 12V power supply that sucks 20W all day long
just sitting there I'd be happy.
I was thinking of using an old apc smart-ups 700 I have but I think
it's 24V. Guess the $39 fry-half your stuff inverter will do for
experimenting.
