Yes, those solar thermal tubes are exactly the best kind around. You see every
time you convert one type of energy to another, it's lossy. Using thermal
incident solar energy to heat water you can use directly has only one conversion
involved and that helps make it efficient.
To use solar energy to make low voltage electricity, convert it to high voltage
electricity and then use that to heat water is plain crazy.
