In Arizona I'd say it might not be a bad idea...
but for Wisconsin...not where I'd have put my efforts  (and $$$$)

The utility won't pay him more than they can sell it for...not for long.

Simple fact is: You cannot generate power cheaper than a huge utility can.
Kept to a smaller scale it's a great hobby.
