can this type of mis-information, heard by millions of radio
listeners, hurt the wind electric generator industry and the pv panel
industry? :
Talk show host #1:
"Using wind-electric generators and solar panels as BACKUP systems to
fossil fuel electric generation- produces more greenhouse gases than
using fossil fuel generation alone!"
Talk show host #2
"Solar panels and wind electric generators put out a bigger carbon
and pollution footprint than burning coal and natural gas in an
elecxtric plant."
Anyone want to know the names and email addresses of the above?

Why the big mystery? Why didn't you just post that information in your
original message? Why would you want/need anyone to contact you for names
and email addresses?

Usually when they come out with these seemingly obvious lies, they are
including all the industrial processes required to manufacture the
generators and panels. And if they insist on taking the short term view,
they're probably right, but I think they also tend to omit that their basis
is short term. Certainly there has to be a break even point, beyond which
the wind and solar energy savings is significant enough to justify their
employment. Also, there are differences in scale, where large projects reap
energy faster than small individual applications, with less proportionate
outlay, and they don't often specify the scale of the effort they criticize.

How long do you think a wind turbine lasts ? Forever ? PV panels' output drops
over time too and they are easily broken in hailstorms.
