isnt three blades better?
Basically no. Some notes I took years ago at a renewable
energy conference indicated the following:
The more blades, the higher the air friction loss on the blades.
Single blades with a counter-weight have been used.
Power is mostly proportional to the swept area of the blades.
There are a lot of variables as I understand it, having to do
with efficiency, noise (and vibration), strength, rotating mass
response to changes in wind direction, cost, etc.
