First, Camping World prices for this stuff are real high so shop around and
for the same money you will get more power and a better panel.  Leaving it
hooked up all the time will boil the battery unless you do something to
limit how much power goes to the battery.  Your radio porbably pulls
apporximatley 1 amp and if you are using 12 volt lights (RV lights) you will
be about 1.5 amps per light.  If so, even a small 12 volt size 24 battery
will give you what you need from what you said.  Your main problem will be
overcharging the battery.

Dont use incandescent bulbs... get some flourescent 12v camping lanterns or led
lamps.... many times more efficient. Check out alphasolar and other
'alternative energy' sites for solar panels, trackers, charge controllers, etc
etc. Have a stream near the cabin? Hook up a small water generator!

Just one other idea about the diode... Lets assume you are generating about
500ma. If its a regular diode, it is wasting about .5A x .7V or 350 mW. This is
about 6% of your 5 watts. If you use a Shottky diode, you are wasting .5A x .2V
or 100mw, about 2% of your 5 watts, a 4% improvement. If a grocery store could
get a 4% improvement, or a power plant could get a 4% improvement, or even gas
gas mileage, it would be WELL worth it.
