Here in the southwestern USA, the summer dry heat is a good resource
if properly harnessed. Hanging out clothes to dry is simple and
affordable but not always practical. My clothes dryer is in my garage,
which in the summer months can reach 120F+ degrees quite easily. I
tried switching the thermal setting from hot over to air dry, and with
the hot ambient air it dried the laundry almost as fast with
dramatically less energy input.
Hot water. For boiled dishes, I fill the covered pan with the
required amount of water and put it out in the sun in the ack yard for
2 hours, it becomes almost too hot to touch, then put it on the stove,
cutting cook time and energy dramatically. I hope it helps.-Jitney
