For anyone interested in these things, I've just added photos of two
small fluidyne (liquid-piston Stirling cycle) engines built in France to

    http://www.iedu.com/DeSoto/Projects/Stirling/Elsewhere/

The first engine incorporates a working pump, and the second is
solar-powered using a parabolic reflector.

The students in Pakistan now have their fluidyne pump running - and it
looks as if the engine might be fighting with the check valves in the pump.

I've added the new video to the web page, and suggestions for better
check valves will be welcome - the more specific, the better!
