This might sound crazy, but I would like to know how to calculate Kw to =
dc voltage.

What I want to do is run a 5Kw diesel generator to charge deep cell =
batteries and have the batteries run a 1500 watt heater.

Can someone tell me the formula to calculate how many batteries I need =
and what kind?

Please email me at:

You're in the wrong group. alt.solar.photovoltaic might be better.

Power is volts times amps. Batteries are rated in Amp hours. So a 50AH
12V battery is 600 watt hours.

Most Usenet denizens will not do that,

It would certainly be more efficient.
