Here is a sobering article that raises serious concerns about the future
prospects for solar energy's competitiveness with other sources of heating.
I searched google and had no maches on subject key words in alt.solar*.
Surprising, since people have figured an average 3% reduction in solar E
striking the earth's surface per decade over the last 50 years. This is
serious loss and does not bode well for photosynthetic plants optimized for
certain energy inputs either.
