I once went to the Pilkington glass museum at St. Helens a long time ago. I
recall they invented the process. I know they made a stash on licensing
factories around the world to make the stuff. I "think" they also invented
low "e" reflective glass too. Not too sure on that.

It was a wonderful museum, there was talk of its being closed the last time
I went but I think it was reprieved. It's well worth a visit.

Know what the best deterrent for burglars is ? Plant something really thorny
(like Rugosa roses ) right under the window. Then, get a good dog. The
minute a burglar hears that dog barking, he is going to look elsewhere.
Burglars are opportunists, and when you dont present them with any
opportunities, they move on.

Berberis or pyracantha are even better - but how do you clean the window
I think the best deterrent is not to have anything they want.

That only works for cigarettes and cellphones, don't leave them showing

what they may get.
