I'd like to start experimenting with solar/heat engines looking forward to
building a full scale solar powered Stirling engine or Mintos wheel. The
problem I have ran into is finding any nice simple plans to cut my teeth on,
so to speak.
What I'm looking for are thing I can build that will allow me to learn the
basics as well as showing me how I might be able to build a full sized
engine. I have found plans for toy type Stirling engines but from what I've
seen none of them could be upscaled to do any real work.
The about the only Mintos wheel plans I have seen are for theoretical full
sized machines which don't seem to be that easy to build in small scale.
Just pointing me to some web sites would be a lot of help. I'm sure someone
here has done some research on this.
thanx

It /is/ fairly difficult to find nice simple plans for any kind
of multiple-horsepower engine.

You probably won't need plans just to learn the basics. I have a
web page with a bit of information on a full-sized fluidyne
(liquid piston Stirling cycle engine) I've been working on. There
aren't any plans, but it's so simple that you may not need plans
if you're willing to tinker and tune.
