Possibly a silly question but here goes...
Can optic fibres be used to transmit light for power purposes, eg.
could you use them as the reciever on a mylar lined satellite dish,
If so, how efficiently do they do it?
I want to be able to burn James Bond's aeroplane to prevent him
escaping or maybe heat some water - that kind of thing.

Possibly, but you would need a LOT of them, and conducting that
amount of energy down fibers would be iffy. That little bit of
waste heat would build up fast. I'd do it with mirrors.
