60% of washing machines sold in the UK are Hotpoints. I don't know why as
they are complete crap. They also hold the market for fridges, which they
are better at.

There isn't a 'boiling wash' on our machine, I've never had one which had -
since the gas boiler but that was hardly a machine.
I doubt that there are any 'boiling washes'. They're not necessary and
harmful to some fabrics.

I don't even have a clue how to start my washing machine, that's what a
