I am interested in getting a solar pool heating system for my home in the
Fort Lauderdale, FL area. Does anyone know whether South Florida Pool
Heating, Inc. is a reliable contractor?

This is probably a very poor group or place to ask that
question.
Try Googling the newsgroups for the name
Do you have a BBB in your area?

What has this firm quoted price wise and what does it include?
It's not that hard for a do it yourself project, I did a code-compliant
system, 5 , 4' X 12' panels, a thermostat differential controller with
motorized three way valve for about 1500 in parts, less than a day to
install everything myself.

Here in Lakeland, they were charging about 4-5K for 5 panels, manual valve
( no controller ) installed.
Hopefully this gives you an idea of the costs involved

Two questions:
1) What kind of business did you buy the panels through?
Here in the SF Bay Area, the parts distributors are very nice to
me right up to the point that they hear I'm a homeowner and not
an installer.
2) Aren't you supposed to paint that PVC pipe black to keep it
from breaking down in the sun?
