I caught that part.  But drilling a well requires the same amount of money
whether there's water at the bottom or not.
That was another bit of news for my daughter.  "Who do we pay for the
water that we pump out of the ground?"


She got over it, and later lived in Mongolia, where there aren't many
frogs.


If they are far enough uphill, not upstream, I suppose it doesn't matter.

I sometimes wonder if my downhill neighbors are using the water I've
already used.  I pump it out of the ground, and then let most of it run
back into the ground.  In between there are some contaminants added, some
enzymes at work, and lots of dirt filtering.


You tend to try to keep them confined to the proper areas of the body.

I didn't know that.

There's not much up hill from here, our water has to be pumped from a tower.

Don't you have a water treatment works?

Yes but there's no room for anymore which might get in there. If there is
they can fight it out between them :-)
