How did you test to determing the problem was the expansion unit?

I measured it. The plunger has a normal "throw" of ~ 1/2". It currently
barely opens 1/2". I think the encapsulant which contains the

I guess I'm not understand the "too many components"?
My drainback system has a pump and about 30 ft of pipe -- thats all.
