By "too many components", I mean that I would have to upgrade to a
"closed loop" (also called indirect) solar system. That would involve
quite a few additional components, not the least of which is the
exchange tank.

Again, I may have to go this way, anyway.

  A drainback system does not have to be closed loop.

Where can I find a diagram of a drainback system which is an "open
loop"?
