Is anyone familiar with a collector configured w/ 12 tubes?  I have a line
on some affordable collectors but the seller has no info on them including
the manufacturer. Googling around I've found 8,16, 20,30 & 40 tube config's
but no 12's. I'd like to find more info before the 2 hr drive to look them
over.

Thanks for any info

Andrew

Hi Andrew

Don't know if it's any help - but our Thermomax system was initially
installed with  a 30-slot manifold and 20 tubes. Later on we added the
remaining 10 tubes - so it's now 'fully populated'.

Maybe your 12-tube setup is a part-populated 20-tube system ..?

Ask him to take a digital pic and email it to you. Save yourself a long =
drive.

A friend has just switched from (2) 4x8 flat plate collectors - which are now
mine - to a 40 tube evacuated unit. I believe he's getting _slightly_ less heat
out of his evac unit, but its only 16sq ft, as opposed to 64 sq ft. I would
therefore not expect the world from a 12-unit evac unit. But its a great start
if the price is right.

Thanks for the responses,

To clarify the collectors are configured for 12 tubes when full and my plan
is to hook 2--3 (12 tube sets) of them together for a DHW system.  I
e-mailed the seller  and requested some more info ie: dimensions, current
use & pictures. If they are suitable the price will be around $00 each.

Thanks

Andrew
