Hey all,

Has anyone tried or have an opinion on GE Lexan Thermoclear sheet as
glazing material?

It appears I can get double wall for about $.54 a sq ft.

Thanks,
darryl

It appears to polycarbonate and that is awesome tough stuff! The
sliding channels and joiners are huge money. I have a $5 roll of
sealing tape I have never opened but already have a few bugs sleeping
inside my panels.

Note that this comes in different flavors.

This has the high UV guard:

It's the Sun XP and has "enhanced" UV protection compared to the rest of
the line. I have no idea if that means the rest of the line is not up to
snuff.

You would not want to use the IR blocking kind for solar air heaters.

   Are you sure?

Seems to me that this is like a selective coating. Incoming visible
strikes the absorber and is converted into heat, this is  then reflected
by the IR coating and kept inside the collector instead of escaping.

I suspect that the IR coating will be benificial to collectors
without a selective coating and am unsure of the others.
