Proof once again that birds are a lot more sensitive to atmosphere
contaminants than we humans. I've also heard of them dieing after the
housewife used the 'self-cleaning' oven.

Been sorta pondering this myself.
but 50 galls seems a bit large...
With a 20 or 30 gal tank, you have a chance of heating it up
to a pretty decent temp. Which means the tankless is heating
it up less. Which is the win.
Otoh, it depends on the house. I'd have to work to empty a 50
gallon tank at Chez Moi.

I did plan the same as Glen. Went to Lowes and bought an 80 gal. electric
water heater and piped it appropriately to store the solar heated water and
feed it to the tanlkess coil on the boiler. Works great. $89..00. Mark
