Well I thought that most solar panels had a 1 way valve that stopped
water from reverse thermosyphon.

Have a look at this link:
Guy had the same problem with his system as you are having --
thermosyphoning in the same direction as the daytime flow.
After reading through it quickly, I'm not exactly sure how he solved
the problem, but if you can't work it out from his detailed
description you could email him.
The part about the reverse thermosyphon is on the last few pages.

I just reversed flow in heat exchanger so now the heat comes in
through the top of the coil and I used a one way flow valve.
It works great. No more problems
