Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm wondering about removing all of the works
of gas fired water heater and replacing the spiral in the flue with a
tube in tube heat exchanger. I know there would be fit and
conductivity issues to be resolved, but I think the area of contact
and the central location might make this a viable way to get heat into
a tank.  Comments?
